Seeing availability on TK to several destinations flying HEL-IST-XXX, but after choosing flights and adding the names of the travelers I get the message "We are unable to confirm the fare for the flights you have selected. Please choose a different fare or flights and resubmit your request. (15012 - 1009)". This happens to all the different destinations where Aegean website first shows availability – extremely frustrating.
Does anybody know if it's phantom availability or if I should call A3's call center?

Managed to book a Winter trip for three (two adults + one child), HEL-IST-MCT r/t in TK J. 180t miles + 940€. Lots of phantom availability all around, checked tons of dates to MCT, AUH and DXB, and finally found these dates.

After lurking through this thread for a while, getting a lot of information on usual suspects for award spaces, I finally managed to book a trip from EU to NZ and Polynesia for two in J. So first of all thanks for this thread and the info that guided me (like not bothering looking for SQ or LX/LH business award space which seems to be pretty rare), and I'll leave below the flights that were available that I did not end up booking, which may still be available for redemption!
What I booked, for two pax :
GVA-TPE (J - 65k A3 miles per pax + 166 EUR)
Feb 25, 2024 : OS GVA-VIE
Feb 25, 2024 : BR VIE-BKK-TPE
TPE-AKL (J - booked via Flying Blue, could not find award availability on *A - 75k FB miles + 93 EUR)

I'm pretty sure you can also leave the GVA-FRA segment out and simply book the rest of the trip, save yourself 25k miles and a probably a few € in taxes and if you must, travel to Frankfurt by other means. 25k for such a short distance is too much.
But anyway, good call on LOT ex-USA, their "fuel surcharges" are among the lowest you can find and they actually do offer award tickets (as opposed to the extremely rare availability of United).

Oh wow, you're right. Those married segments are killing the game, usually the other way around (both individual segments being available but the combined route isn't) but now there's availability for the 3-segment trip and not for the two of them? Wow!
Anyway, just 1 day later there's availability from FRA via AMS, it saves the 25k and over 200€ and if Zurich is indeed a good option for you, you can fly from there for even less taxes (again via AMS, which seems to be the best option, or even via MXP!)
Same with VIE on the 22nd.

Booked a BKK - SIN flight in J on SQ oneway for 32.5k and around 22 €.
Interestingly, A3 tool offered many more choices for that route (including some itineries with connection) compared to LH M&M (which only showed a few TG flights to be available).

I got 110 k miles in 2019 for RT award ticket between Far East and Europe , then the COVID came. It took 130 K for the same itinerary now.
However, the good thing for A3 mileage plan is that we can book award ticket 365 days before departure date......

Yeah inter-SE Asia availability is still a sweet-spot. I did KUL-SIN-CGK, DPS-SIN-BKK and BKK-TPE earlier in the year, the first two with SQ and the third with BR. Lots of SQ availability in both Y anc C and LOW taxes (around 18 to 22 Euro for the two-leg flights I took in Y). Plenty of TG availability too but the taxes are higher. BR taxes were reasonable (50 to 100 depending on route). The most "interesting" flights I saw were BKK-HKG-TPE on ET and BR.

Today, I tried to book LCA to BKK return in business class using M&B mileage. The online system showed BKK as an unavailable destination. When then checking with an Aegean agent, I was told that there was no availability whatsoever in I class during November through mid-December. In contrast, Miles and More offers their members business availability every single day throughout this period. Why is Aegean unable to access I class inventory for its M&B members?

Got a bit curious about BKK and decided to fool around with the award engine a bit. Got one interesting thing out of it. Didn't try to actually book it, but it did show me a mixed cabin ticket in I and O, with the long haul in O, where the price in miles is actually just the price of O and not the sum of both I for the short haul and O for the long haul legs, which is normally the case with M&B awards.
Anyway, for October and November switching departure to, for example, IST, there's "some" I availability with TK and TG via a couple of waypoints (with either airline serving the long haul segment).
