I assume you mean Singapore Airlines (SQ).
Rewards aren't often available intercontinentally, but flights within Asia are often available, sometimes more readily than in economy class. And with no fuel charges either! I've just flown two flights booked with M&B awards KUL-SIN-CGK and DPS-SIN-BKK and the total taxes/fees were both less than 20 Euro.

Let's all try, on a voluntary basis, to restrict that, clearly for the sake of older people (like myself). It may take a fraction of a second to type a few more letters, it takes old people often minutes to figure out what the poster means...

PS1 Translation of FT for people of my kind: flyertalk!
PS2 I know this is in vain, but having nothing better to do today (age plus a public holiday) I'm trying my luck!
For the sake of the younger, perhaps 'Post Scriptum' should be spelled out too?

Well, I agree BC for 'Business Class' is slightly odd to me too, but when it comes to airline codes it is pretty established to use the IATA codes. They are also all in the glossary (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/glossary.php )

Yep, you're right, but this is sooo established: e.g. (exempli gratia) several songs, including Paul McCartney's!

Does anyone else get an error when making certain searches? You enter the criteria in the award engine, but then the page goes blank and the URL says: https://e-ticket.aegeanair.com/[a bunch of gobbeldy-gook and unique session ID]/error

I only realized it was a "localized" error when I went back, changed the dates to many months later and the search resolved. I think it's possible this means there's no award space, but if so, that's a really inelegant way to handle that error. Fwiw, I was searching FRA-LAX for August.

It error out when there aren't any awards it can find on the date or any in the few days around it. In short is has nothing to display so it errors out. It is why I use United to get a rough search unless I am looking for one of the special A3 routings.

Ah and what if a person was looking for one of A3's special routings? Presumably still findable on UA, just segment-by-segment instead?

Hello A3 forum,

I'd like a sanity check before phoning up A3.
I looked for award space on SQ through the A3 website and I couldn't find any. I looked on award nexus and I saw space available (through AC, thus I'd imagine it's I class). If I call A3 and feed the flight numbers to the agent will I be able to book?

Try calling, since the website has its quirks when it comes to award availability with partner airlines...

Tried calling, the agent couldn't see the complete routing but could see the individual segments, but then again couldn't see the inbound flights. So I gave up.

I'll look up some alternative dates and try again tomorrow.

Exactly, award seat availability is not the same across all star members, especially true when it comes to SQ.

If op succeeds in booking some SQ longhaul business class via agent that would be a very interesting thing to hear about.

The agent offered AMS-SIN-MEL-AKL on SQ-SQ-NZ in business, so it seems to be possible.

Nice. How many miles did you end up using for this routing? Also it's interesting that you have more than one stop, I recall reading somewhere that this is not within the rules of redemptions through A3.

You have indeed read something like that, just not that . Two stops are possible, but in that case you pay the miles for one of the segments (usually the last, sometimes the first) as if booked separately, so you effectively book two award tickets together. A single award ticket can include up to one stop, only then does it cost whatever is published on the award chart.

But I too find it interesting, that long-haul on Singapore was bookable by phone, I'd be very interested in reading more about when the flights are to take place, what the exact booking classes and cost in miles are (hope this isn't some misunderstanding, where he actually booked X, X, I, or X, I, I and just said on the phone "it's business class", which would be easy to verify, among other things according to the seat assignment the agent would have given, if actually booked) etc.

I didn't book because the return flights I had found were not available. Searching the same flights on the A3 website didn't return any results in J. So it might very well be that the agent could see them, but ticketing them might have been a different story
