Guys I think that they do it on purpose
I mean not fixing the search engine
some people in Greece pile up a lot of miles by using credit card offers from Greek banks and they use the program to sell tickets to other people
They run a star alliance ticket office for award business class tickets
I am pretty sure they are doing that to get them

jkgrpas I don't fully understand that argument either for two reasons: 1. Only the awards with connecting flights aren't accessible/bookable online! As far as I could check, every direct connection is available! So at least in terms of first class redemptions, I believe at least 90% of what was bookable before is bookable now (the other 10% being first class awards with two flights in first class, a real rarity in Star Alliance), since you can book your non-first connection separately for the same amount of miles and only have perhaps a couple more euros to pay as well as an additional ticket to cancel as drawbacks, compared to booking non-first and first together as one ticket. For business class sure this has a much bigger impact, but.... 2. The "ticket office business" can also still book everything by telephone. I don't know if perhaps they are too ashamed to do it, but the end result should be pretty much the same as by booking online. If their bookings are flagged as suspicious, well, they will get flagged either way. Booking awards for dozens of different people, none of which are in your together account, family members or otherwise closely connected to the account holder (and not flying with them either) is most definitely suspicious and I personally wouldn't be too sad either, if Aegean did manage to "get them" (more award space for us "normal people" ). But, again, excluding connecting flights from the award search engine should have nothing to do with that. Didn't they shut down a "father and son" business with millions of miles about 2-3 years ago?

Connecting flights is the biggest trade, Balkan to USA and ASIA in business
thats all connecting flights
Through the call center is much more difficult for them to run their business and I believe is easier d
for Aegean to catch them
the guys they shut down are back in business 6 months ago
they were buying bonus points and then made them miles through Aegean credit cards

"they were buying bonus points and then made them miles through Aegean credit cards"

1. The only points which can be converted to miles are the ones which are collected by using the Aegean Visa issued by Alpha Bank.

2. Each Aegean Visa is connected to the unique M+B account that belongs to the credit card holder.

3. You cannot collect miles from different Alpha Bak cards (VISA, Mastercard) and then transfer them to the Aegean Visa aiming that the same are converted into Aegean miles. This used to be the case in the past but it is no longer possible to do so for more than 3 to 4 years.

Aegean has direct access to their own branded Visa credit cards. They can very easily see where all your points/miles are coming from. If you're aiming to use the program for your own travels, I would never risk anything suspicious, that might put your million miles at risk.

What you say is not strictly correct. For around six months, it has been possible to collect M&B miles using the new Aegean Bank of Cyprus Mastercard. The Alpha Bank Aegean Visa has been closed to new customers in Cyprus and will shortly be withdrawn from the market.

Is it at least possible to book on the phone routing with connection? I found LAX-HND-LHR separately.

Should be possible, but be aware that for LAX-HND-LHR to be bookable it needs more than just availability on both segments.
ANA like married segments... :P

So FRA-LAX F is off the table as NH doesn't fly FRA-TYO. If you want J then some of the other EU gateways are better.
If you start in LHR the taxes have gone up. I booked LHR-LAX last year with 394 Euro as tax. Now it is over 500.
I feel like I have never found LAX-EU routes but for me the other way around is better as I would redeem delta miles for the return so they have ex-EU fee of couple of $100
