I'm not sure what you mean by "the economy flights". If you're ticked in O class you would at least be seated in J. Once the ticket is issued and you call the operating airline for seat assignment I assume it would get sorted out in J or it may require re-ticking in J by Aegean. Don't see any situation though where you're ticked in O and seated in economy unless that was a change that was a downgrade you agreed to.

Well what I meant was that these phantom seats appeared at exactly the moment ALL the long-haul economy availability dissappeard so they are "supposed" to be economy class. Even the taxes and fees seem to match the economy class fees as shown on ITAMatrix. I agree - I'm sure you would not actually get seated in economy if you booked one of these. I'd guess it would either not be bookable in the first place (surely ticketing would fail), get cancelled by the airline, or you would end up seated in business class and have to pay the additional 40 or 50 Euro taxes.

It's amazing in the age of instant information that these have been up for about a week now and nothing has been done about it. But then we are talking about A3's IT department. (And I'm assuming it's A3's mistake not TK - don't A3 use O class for economy awards? That could be the problem)

It's actually been up for much more than a week. I first noticed it about 3-4 months ago but it was only on a few routes, recently it's become much more widespread.

Agree that whatever happens it's unlikely to be seated in economy but until someone tries to ticket one of these we won't see how it gets handled and if there would be any additional fee required. Even so an extra cash fee is negligible in comparison to having to pay an extra XX points to get a separate J class ticket if your itinerary doesn't offer F class on both segments.

(And I'm assuming it's A3's mistake not TK - don't A3 use O class for economy awards? That could be the problem)
Across *A the same fare class is used for awards. First/Biz/Economy is O/I/X.

Ended up cancelling the NH jolly where the dates were less than optimal and now regret! Any recent successes of US-Japan-EU or vice versa? I can see individual sectors availability, but the routing doesn't show up anymore (or when it shows it's all zeroed out in all classes or only economy is available). A bit more luck with OZ, but I'm more keen on NH.

I see to be having a lot of trouble pulling up inventory on Canadian city pairs. Is A3 having problems with AC? Anyone else have issues? I can see availability using Aeroplan and UA's websites but A3 comes back with nil.

Can anyone find any J flights out of west coast, e.g. SFO, to Europe? UA shows availability of anytime J award seats pretty much daily in e.g. September, whereas A3 is refusing to show me anything even in December. Plenty of Y, but obviously I'm not interested in this. Can see J out of Asia though, e.g. NRT. Any ideas?

Anytime awards will never be bookable from a partner program, only saver awards, and because you are neither looking for right as the schedule opens 11ish months out, nor close in to departure this is usually a leaner time for saver awards.

To find the saver space use the calendar shop option on United's website to show which dates have saver awards to various different European cities and go from there.

For example it shows SFO-Paris 0 days in September, October 3 days, 7 in November and 13 in December.
For SFO-London, 0 in september, then 3, 5, 15 for the following months respectively.

If you are flexible then there are some seats.

Some more infos would be nice.
Yes, you can book F awards through M&B. I've done that myself already.
HOWEVER award availability in F is pretty slim and thus difficult to find.
On routes from Europe to LAX for instance, you won't be able to get an F award a week in advance most of the time.
Singapore Airlines only makes C/F awards available on a very small number routes in the first place.

So it really depends...

It's almost impossible to find F availability for SQ. SQ C availability isn't that bad but you are typically limited to their older regional (intra-asia) product.

I regularly see F availability on AI but I'm hardly convinced to fork out the extra miles for a product that offers little value over most C.

NH and LH offer the most reliable F availability (NH many months ahead if you're lucky and LH very last minute).

Or I should check availability of AAA-BBB and BBB-CCC and then call A3 to get a single redemption?
I'm quoting an old message just to ask if I understood correctly. If I want to go from AAA to CCC passing through BBB the only way to do that is if the combination already exists on the A3 redemption website when looking for the AAA-CCC route, correct? There is no other way? I am asking since many combinations in Asia are not prompted by the website so I'm wondering if there's another way around. Thanks!!!

There is a maximum permitted mileage rule of 125%
Your example above PEK-HKG is 1234 miles; +25% is 1542 miles.
Routing via SIN is 4367 miles so way over the MPM. In addition, A3 don’t allow stopovers only connections up to 24 hours. You would need to book it as 2 one ways if you need to be in SIN for a few days.

Is this new? Only some months ago I've booked FRA-HND-LAX, which is almost double the miles of FRA-LAX..

The online award booking tool still offers routings that are way over the 125% referred to in the previous post. For example, searching Hong Kong to Toyko will show routings via Singapore (around 2.5x direct)
