Really? I didn't know they release them to A3! I have to sleep on the angle flat for the red eye flight on the A330

Same here I could redeem KUL to KIX in C on the SQ 787-9 on the leg between SIN-KIX for July. Did the booking online and totally fee was 12 euro.

I wonder if that is the only route that they release to A3, I can not find any other route with 787.

Now, I'm in a really hilarious situation. Not!

I was trying to book a business class award online (SK/LX). I came as far as to enter the name of the traveller (myself), and then suddenly the booking crashed, and informed me that I had to start from scratch. So, I started making the same booking again, and the same thing happened once more. After I had confirmed that the booking was indeed for myself, there was an error and I was asked to start all over again.

And now, suddenly there's no availability on the flights that I wanted to book.

Has anybody ever experienced a similar situation? And how did you solve it?

Has anybody had experience using A3 miles to book *A award flights and then using more miles to add an infant to the booking later? Using A3 miles but not flying with A3.

from a specific step from booking process the inventory is blocked for a period of time, so meanwhile nobody can book it before you, same happens with normal tickets. maybe you try again a bit later and the inventory is back? is not excluded that on high demand routes someone else was faster than you.

Thanks! I was able to book it about 10 hours after I tried the first time. I switched from Chrome to Firefox, and voila, everything worked perfectly. For some reason, Chrome crashed that booking.

Just booked Singapore Airlines in business class from Istanbul to Singapore to Hong Kong for 55,000 miles and just €16 in tax in April 2019 - I was happy to go from anywhere in Europe but nowhere else could I find such a low-fee redemption; everyone else (Thai, Air China even) wanted well over €150 in fees from most destinations.

SQ do the IST-SIN route with a refitted 777-200ER with a 1-2-1 business class that looks incredible for what you'd pay - the seat is thirty inches wide, which no one else seemed to be able to come close to as I was looking at redemption options! Also excited to try out the new IST airport and what I hope is a Turkish Airlines lounge at least as good as the one we have now. SIN-HKG is a more normal 2-2-2 business layout but, I'm sure, it will still be great (though early!).

One odd thing - I couldn't get the A3 website to let me have a longer connection in Singapore than the first flight after arrival; I had hoped to spend the morning exploring the airport and having a swim at the Aerotel! Any advice? If I called Aegean, what's the likelihood they'd be able to move me to a later-in-the-day flight? It seems to beggar belief that every SQ business seat on every flight from SIN to HKG is sold out so close to the start of the booking period.

Thanks as always to this forum's dedicated members for keeping us all up to date and helping guide our searches.

They are flying the new A380s to HKG as well, you could ”hunt” them

Yes, subject to award space availability (see below) and the 20 euro change fee. You have to call in.
Best approach would have been to call in once you did your research (research like that I mention below). Maybe next time.

"Sold out", and "No award space" are two different things. SQ is known to fly almost empty cabins instead of flooding it with award redeemers.
Furthermore, award space availability on SQ depends on the aircraft used. SQ rarely (not never) releases business class/first class on 77W (777-ER), A350, A380 operated flights to star alliance members for redemption (like A3).
As you can see on the daily flight roster on a random date, only SQ890, SQ 872 or SQ868 are flown by aircraft besides the blocked models.
Check if you can get award space on either of these three.
By the way, afternoon flights from SIN to HKG are popular with HKG business men getting back home, so there is usually poor award space availability.

For the past 3 or 4 days now, http://e-ticket.aegeanair.com has been down, meaning that it is impossible to book (or, as I am trying to do, research) reward tickets online. Has nobody else (even Aegean) noticed???
