I think that is a great benefit that AS offers for First Class Fares and Awards but I dont really think its a mileage plan benefit because you dont have to be a mileage plan member although I suppose you would be a member if it was an award

The first option:

suffered from some shortening that distorted the meaning. The actual submission was:
"Broad range of mileage partners from multiple alliances and ability to combine two different partner one-way awards into a single round-trip award"
AS doesn't allow true multi-carrier awards like members of an actual alliance do, but some may find the ability to redeem CX F one way and EK F on the return (a combination no other carrier can do) to be a pretty powerful benefit.
