Stayed here a few times last month.
Some pros and cons

PROS

+If you want to be in the middle of the Dotonbori area this is a very good location
+As a platinum member I got a upgrade to a much larger room on a high floor, a free welcome drink, some small sweets in my room, free access to a coffee machine, and free breakfast. (They needed to be reminded about the platinum breakfast benefit though as reception staff members seem to forget this)
+The larger rooms have quite a lot of space for Japanese standards.
+Windows CAN be opened for fresh air at this property (however they open onto a fire escape which connects all rooms on the same floor so not the best for safety at night)
+There is a small fridge in the room
+Hotel has a coin laundry
+You will be very spoilt for choice in terms of eating. Hundreds (possibly thousands) of restaurants in the nearby area
+Rates are good value Sunday to Thursday. The Holiday Inn namba is very close, as it’s just a bit further down the same road. Compare prices with that property when booking. I have stayed at both and prefer the ibis styles as the ibis has lower prices, a few more facilities in the hotel and better benefits for platinum members.

CONS

-The closest metro stations are about 5 to 10 minutes walk away (Which is ok, but not fun if you have heavy luggage)
-Dotonbori can be a loud and crowded place (especially on weekends). Take this into consideration when staying here, especially if your window faces the street.
-Rates here on Friday and Saturday nights can be high. If you don’t need to be in dotonbori, your money might get you more elsewhere.
-The building doesn’t look like it was originally built as an ibis hotel, but looks like is a refurbished older building that was changed to an ibis.
-The rooms and hallways are very bland and devoid of any decoration at all. Lots of dark color in the hallways and rooms make it look like a bit like Japanese love hotel.
-Breakfast food choice and quality is not the best
-On more than 1 occasion I noticed the glasses in the room for drinking had not been cleaned properly (this was on different stay dates and in different rooms)
-Bathroom is small with low ceiling
-No safe in room
-Only 1 ice machine on the 5th floor
-Many taxis can’t go right up to the hotel entrance as it’s down a small 1 way street, so will drop you off at the large road nearby
