Gold lounge at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dabi
Anyone has recently experienced the gold lounge at Fairmont in Abu Dhabi ? i know unfortunately it’s not included on Accor Plat benefits, but since the rate for Gold Fairmont room is not so expensive, i’m thinking on 3 nights stay on April, after some days at Sofitel Abu Dhabi, instead to move to Dubai at MGallery on Palm. Of course i’m mainly interested to know if there is champagne at gold lounge ... 😁 I haven’t found here and on the web any detailed report on this lounge ... if there is, sorry and many thanks to share any link |

No experience of the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr beyond Friday brunch which was very good.
Bear in mind the Mgallery Dubai Palm is a 100% no alcohol property. unfortunately the Sofitel on Palm is too expensive on that Easter week and I was looking for an alternative this fairmont seems very nice, even if it’s on a canal and the sea is surely worst than on Palm Dubai ...but I think would be different level (and more quiet also) than Mgallery if they would provide champagne at gold lounge, I could try to bankrupt them ...since it’s not free for Accor Plat ... 😃 |
I'm just now on Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. Unfortunately no champagne on gold lounge. I think they are serving prosecco, but not sure because I'm taking my daily dose of bubbles in G&T. Complimentary alcohol is served 17-19.00 and selection is quite good but basic. So just some basic brands, not any expensive highend brands.
I was last year Sofitel the palm Dubai and I would recommend Fairmont Bab Al Bahr over Sofitel. I was here last year on holiday too so that would tell you enough. Sofitel feels a lot more crowded and service is way better in Bab Al Bahr. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5453d6cc94.jpg |

How is the sea ? Much worst than at Dubai palm ...or acceptable? Thanls again |
Just asked Accor to honor the best rate guarantee -10% reservation made by Accor (refundable - fairmont Gold room) euro 800 including taxes by Booking.com, same room / condition euro 670 including taxes hope they will manage at 670 -10% ... |
Good luck with that. Last night I booked directly with the hotel at Angasa Zhuhai. 4000 rmb for 2 nights on their own website as well as Accor website. 3600RMB on booking.com and Agoda. Didn't want to waste time and potentially lose the promotion x4 points so asked the hotel to match booking.com price which they did. Make sure every condition is the same otherwise Accor may reject the request.

No pics of wine bottles, because it's not self service over here. In lounge they have like regular small bar where you can order drinks from bartender or you can order drinks from waitress.
I think they have two different white and two red wines. One or two kind of bubbly. There is also beer, vodka, brandy, whisky, gin and liqueurs like Baileys some 2-4 different brands of each. You can also have some cocktails. I think that Bab Al Bahr beach is quite close to Sofitel Palms beach. Because of both of them are kind of man made beaches. Maybe views from Sofitels beach are a little better. Sofitel is more like big resort hotel and Fairmont is smaller beach hotel with nice pool and good enough beach. If you have kids who still like waterslides, then Sofitel would be better for you. Those slides are quite small and there are just few so older kids might get bored quite fast. My kids 11 and 15 like Fairmont far better than Sofitel. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f884bd2523.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...111988c7c9.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7c3e678c31.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...fc434fd784.jpg |

Contemplating a stay at this hotel but I found the Fairmont booking website to be so confusing. This is shown on the final booking page. Do I understand that, as LCAH member, I will pay 90% of the 2102 AED shown?

View of the Fairmont gold lounge (I don’t know exactly where) from the competitor’s club lounge in front of them 😁 https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...bbe40289d.jpeg |
