Probably (or not) the best Mercure in the World

Ladies and Gentlemen, please let me introduce probably (or not) the best Mercure in the world.

The name is: Mercure Dolomiti Hotel Boite, a “new” Accor hotel since last year

it’s located north Belluno, just 9 km from Cortina d’Ampezzo, quite famous place in Italy.

I don’t want to spend so many words, I prefer to let the pictures tell about this marvelous Mercure ...

booked Privilege room (they have Standard, Superior and Privilege ...I let you image how are standard and Superior) , received Privilege, without (of course) welcome gift, welcome drink (I have asked later) and Nespresso machine (received later) but with castle bed (I don’t know why ... to joke I have told my wife that I was waiting for 2 escorts to stay with us

if one day you come in Italy, please don’t forget to visit this hotel !

the bathroom is something incredible, remember me when I was eighteen year old and went with my friends to some hostels across Europe ...

just one word : LOL :D

Dav77 Feb 8, 2019 2:12 pm

Some details more ...

view from the balcony (1x1 mt ) ...chair and ...when we were (not in the hotel) at the restaurant for dinner, they have removed the castle bed and put this fantastic sofa, directly from 70’ (or maybe 60’ )

They just entered the room after you had checked in (and when you weren't there) to change the furniture? That seems inappropriate. Did you have a do not disturb sign on the door?

You are so...Cortina, Dav77 :D

huh? Did I missed something? It looks clean, and while not fancy, it's perfectly adequate for a Mercure (that are, at least in my opinion, a 4* chain on the lower end)

I've had Mercure hotels that had smaller rooms and/or were more worn / older furniture, and I'd NOT have called them to be the "worst" Mercure in the world..

edit: Checked Google reviews, 3.7/5. TripAdvisor is similar. Certainly not a great hotel, but FAR, FAR, FAR from being the worst Mercure.

I respect your opinion, but this is certainly not up to the Mercure standards.

no, there wasn’t on the door.

True, it's much better than the

BGU Hotel Mercure (in Bergamo), which has a fantastic 3.0/5 from Google ;)

Hotel Mercure Bologna Centro is at 3.7 / 5 as well

Mercure Hotel Garmisch Partenkirchen 3.8 / 5

Mercure Hotel München Neuperlach Süd 3.6 / 5

Mercure Hotel München Airport Freising 3.8 / 5

Mercure Hotel München Schwabing 3.7 / 5

Hotel Mercure Wien Westbahnhof 3.8 / 5

Mercure Hotel Muenchen Airport Aufkirchen 3.7 / 5

Hotel Mercure Salzburg Central 3.9 / 5

Just some Mercure hotels in North Italy / Austria / Bavaria (ie, the region - I don't like to compare chains world-wide.. for example the average Hilton in China let look a good Hilton in the US like a dumpster place..)

The Mercure here certainly isn't in the upper half of Mercure hotels world wide - but making an article about an outdates Mercure? I've had have at least 10 Accor group properties (of which around 3 or 4 Mercures) I've stayed in the last 10 years that were definitely worse than this one - but which were still mostly OK to stay. I'm still missing the point what exactly is SO bad to warrant this thread.
