List of Accor Properties 2019 undergoing renovations

Starting this thread as many hotels want to avoid people avoiding them when they are being refurbished.
Hotels need to be refurbished, and upgraded. Its just when you turn up and find builders all over the hotel and your quality time being interrupted by hammers and drills,
and no notice on the web site when booking or even contacted after booking.

ibis Amboise Hotel :

please feel free to add

Novotel (Central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

Hotel Majapahit (Surabaya, Indonesia): I stayed there around May 2018 and was told that they were beginning renovations the next month and would become a Sofitel Legend. I haven't heard anything since then.

Raffles (Siem Reap, Cambodia) will completely close for renovations from May to November, from memory

Raffles (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) will not close but renovations will begin in stages later this year

Swissotel The Stamford (Singapore): Executive Lounge was closed for renovation when I stayed in December 2018 however other posters have reported that it has now reopened.

Sofitel Rome. Website says it is under renovation until early March, although I could not find available dates before early May.

With over 4000 Accor properties and a hotel typically undergoing an extensive renovation every 10-20 years, there are probably a few hundred hotels undergoing renovation at any iven time.

Anyway, here are a few additions:

Fairmont Royal York Toronto - ongoing renovation of rooms/suites started ~two years ago; currently the entire lobby and attached restaurant is closed for renovations

Fairmont Singapore - ongoing renovation of rooms/suites; some reports of Gold lounge closed this year

Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica - major re-construction, demolition of bungalows and addition of a new building announced for 2019, but not sure about status quo

Htel Mercure Biarritz Centre Plaza

Not undergoing work, but the street outside is dug up preventing easy access.

Htel Sofitel Biarritz Le Miramar Thalassa sea and Spa

Maybee not in hotel, but a lot of the road outside is blocked by builders.

Agree that lots of hotels are undergoing work,, and that's a good thing IMHO, but its also nice to stay ( if you have a choice ) in a hotel that is not a builders yard.
My point is that most hotels fail to tell you, and if you then turn up there is not a lot you can do about it.

Pullman / Mercure King George Square Brisbane

Swimming pool still out of action (must be 2 years or so nowadays but they provide free use of the Sofitel pool with transport just up the road ) but they have completed the renovation of the in house restaurant Goldfinch which is very nice (Watch your head on those globe lights though !)

Hotel Mercure San Sebastian Monte Igueldo

Building work next door to hotel : OH got locked out of hotel at dusk as wandered around to take pictures of view - very good view - and took hm 1/2 h to get back into hotel grounds. No signs saying drive will be locked and bolted and key hidden ( Was not very impressed to say the least )

Will do a full review of this hotel later this week.

Sofitel Bogota Victoria Regia
Major renovation until end Q1-2020. Restaurant is currently closed. Temporary arrangements in place in other places of the hotel to provide breakfast and bar. Gym is also closed and equipments are accessible in temporary locations.
I have to say, it is all well managed. No real inconveniences for the guests.
Please note that the hotel street is also undergoing major renovation and is currently closed to car traffic. Arrangements are in place to minimize inconveniences to guests for pick-up and drop-off (and that's OK because the hotel is close to the street intersection).
