Booked a room with breakfast and minibar included, did get the welcome drinks but was not upgraded to the plan with free meals. I did ask about it and they said the only class of room higher available was the suite, and the room I had booked was too low of a rank to qualify for a suite upgrade. Requested a late check out as well and was denied due to capacity issues, which was somewhat annoying as we had a late flight out and had hoped to relax in the room before departing.

Gold status. Got a 1 level upgrade from courtyard room to room with balcony looking down a laneway and 1 drink voucher. Very very tired hotel that is trading on location alone. As a surfer still beats staying in the Sydney CBD though! Have another couple of stays booked, hopefully can snag an ocean front room
Silver Status
Upgraded 1 room category to Ocean View Room with 2 queen beds (view was magnificent) and room very large.
2 Free drink vouchers
$1 buffet breakfast was on offer too (for all guests).
Great $55 seafood buffet. My husband had the seafood buffet. I didn't want the buffet so had an entrée and asked if I could pay for dessert and was told I could have the buffet desserts for free.

Was in Flanders for almost a week, just got back yesterday. Platinum status.

Welcome Drink Voucher ( one ) - but second very reluctantly and slowly given on production of OH card ( soft drinks or small beer )
Welcome amenity - not appreciated - full waste bin in room from previous guest.
Not upgraded ( there are suites available at this Ibis ) but got a room with poor air con ( 22 deg min ) and a lovely view of the extractor fans from the window
Will post a full review when I can get the room temperature down to a more realistic 17 or 18 deg ( its 37 deg outside ) as this is on the tourist route(s)
