ibis Salamanca (Spain)
Gold status
Two small bottles of water and a bag of small biscuits made by a local company + a handwritten note in my native language.
(One of the receptionists is from my country.)
Surprised to find anything as it's an ibis. Happy to see a local product.

All the Ibis style I have been (Italy and France) are better than the average (old style) Novotels (same places)
don’t understand why Accor reward 1/4 of points at these properties, that sometimes have quite same rates than Novotels

Welcome Amenity: Fruit platter. Arrival at the hotel was good. Good recognition and straight away escorted to Priority Check-In at Le Club counter.

Given a strawberry cake when reminded them it was our son's birthday on the day we checked in.
When enquired about if they do ever give a welcome gift to plat or gold members they replied that the welcome drink was it. I told them that was not true. Showed them the picture of Tianjin/Shanghai Banyan tree welcome gift (from this forum). She said she would talk to her manager about it.
An update: a bowl of 3 fruit including a beautiful Apple and 2 cookies were brought to the room.
I am satisfied they are trying

I don't know the brand but it looks much better than the usual (where I am) generic Ibis Styles' shampoo etc

True, and I think they use it to complement with the 2 in 1 shampoo & body wash available inside the room so there is only shampoo, conditioner and body lotion
