Platinum/Gold Welcome Amenities at Accor Hotels

While not obviously clear. The complimentry drinks in the evening are only available if you decide to eat their buffet dinner. Is the buffet quite pricey or was that complimentry too for 2 adults? I would be truely amazed if it was not just the complimentry drinks.

The buffet dinner is a Platinum benefit . . . we do not pay. I ate it. The evening cocktails are also complimentary. I was very amazed.
I did not note down the buffet price for non-Platinum guests.

Will have to visit Jakarta this coming week. Tempted to try Raffles if my appointment requires me to stay around South Jakarta. Or return to Fairmont again

Mercure Langen Frankfurt Airport
Now for something completely different...
Mercure Langen Frankfurt Airport - welcome amenity
The hotel is a recent conversion from an old and tired Steigenberger. I booked the room for the 4x points, as alk airport hotels in FRA tend to be crap anyway.

I feel a little guilty even thinking of "cheating" on Pullman CP, but I will get over it, Raffles sounds like a 'Must Try'!

I even felt the need to tell the GM on my last stay that I was cheating!
It's akin to going to a different barber! Oh that anxiety!

Hotel: Grand Mercure Jinan Sunshine
Status: Platinum
VIP Treatment: This was a "compensation" stay, due to an issue during a previous stay where I got charged by the DCC method by default and went through a lengthy refund process. So, I doubt that the welcome gift here is the norm (as I have stayed previously and just received a normal fruit bowl).
Fruit plate waiting in the room, with a handwritten note from the GM.
Reaction: A good stay. We definitely received some special treatment.
A full review will come when I have some time.

Peoples Grand Sofitel Legend Xian
Just checked in and will make a complete review once the stay is finished.
Some notes: Free minibar, Soft drinks, juice, tea and coffee available in the lobby bar all day for free. 5:30pm to 7:30pm happy hour.
Welcome gift: 2 small chocolates, 1 macaroon (Gave it to my mother to avoid a family break down). Bowl of fruit. 1 locally made small cake(Xian shortcake).
Satisfied but not amazed unlike the Sofitel Shanghai a few months earlier. The 2 nights are costing around 6000RMB.
Upon checking in they prepared the prestige suite (what I paid for) but after talking with manager about my chats with reservations and Accor customer service confirming that it is possible to upgrade from the prestige suite. Was granted the upgrade to Grand Prestige Suite.

I see you managed to avoid the mistake that @Dav77 made.
I eagerly look forward to reading your review. The APAC sale starts on Tuesday and my partner and I will be going to Xi'an next month. I will need to read up on the properties there.

Just don't make the mistake of calling it a macarOOn again. A macaroon is not a macaron (and not pronounced the same way either).
Macaroon is American and cake like biscuit.
Macaron is the French sugar/almond desert your mother deserved
My wife makes the best macarons.

Today I am staying at Sofitel city center Singapore, and once again they are not sending me any welcome amenities.
I see other guest got it, but so weird why they always missed out mine.
Anyway, I am OK without it.
