Novotel Gdańsk Centrum (Poland)
Gold status

Pieces of pineapple, grapes, and oranges.
Not particularly exciting, but at least fresh and ripe.

Novotel Rotorua

Novotel Rotorua, New Zealand
Platinum
No Welcome Amenity
Disappointed with the hotel overall as far as Platinum recognition - seems poorly managed.

Welcome gift of this rather random Christopher Vine brand mug (had nail polish illustrations on it?) waiting in the room and 1 x Welcome drink voucher (2 people staying)
No upgrade (I requested via email day before but did not press at reception as there was a long line of people checking in)

Would include a pic but this is my first post and it seems I'm not allowed!

My classmate and friend was the assistant manager of this hotel until November as he has recently moved to Canada. I will ask him if this is normal gift for plat members.

Mercure Bangkok Makkasan
Status Platinum

Stayed here a few times now. Welcome amenity was the same as before, nothing to talk about, but this time got upgraded to 1 bedroom suite, so that's something
It's the best Mercure I have stayed so far, even better than many Novotel.

Hotel: Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City
Platinum

Hotel: Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station
Similar but chocolate replaced by stroopwafels

Both hotels have different keycards for platinum/gold/silver which i don't remember seeing it at other places (I've only seen different keycard holders). It's quite useful though for example when I ask for a late check out and the staff was going to ask me to pay 20EUR until she see the keycard.

Have seen the "status" keycards elsewhere - can not remember, as well as the key card holders, but only once and not in same property
