First MGallery by Sofitel Hotel in Hong Kong
Accor has signed a deal to introduce its MGallery by Sofitel to the vibrant city of Hong Kong. The Silveri MGallery by Sofitel is slated to open in the second half of 2019 and will be situated in the Tung Chung district of Lantau Island, where it will form part of the Citygate integrated project. Tung Chung is very close to Hong Kong International Airport and offers direct links to the city center, about 30 minutes away.

When a Sofitel opens in Hong Kong I will get excited. But a good addition and Any new additions are very welcome in East Asia where Accor needs to work hard to break into these markets more.

It was mentioned in the 2018 thread and listed in jiunsoh's useful "Accor hotels in Malaysia" thread. (I'm not posting to 'score points' or be critical of your post, RJ77, but because the links could be of interest here.)

I wonder if this thread is a tad optimistic, maybe we need an Accor add/moves/changes thread? On that note I can report the Mercure Sydney Airport has been rebranded as a Novotel, & the Sebel Quay West Brisbane has left the chain. the Sebel Kirkton Hunter Valley left a little while ago and now is flagged as the Voco, part of IHG.
I wonder if Sebel as a brand is on the wane?

A Sofitel will be opening in Mexico DF next September
Hotels options in DF were very poor with Accor and I hope this Sofitel will define new standards

Sebel is an interesting brand - they did open about three over the last year though (near the Perth CBD and at Margate / Redcliffe near Brisbane and Malvern in Melbourne). Doesn't really speak to me as a brand personally and there would seem to be a fair bit of overlap with Mantra when its integrated...

Looking farther into the future, Accor is teasing some of their planned 2020 openings, and some are a tease indeed:

The two Swiss hotels (Moevenpick Basel and Swissotel Kursaal Bern) are both very promising, but what gets me particularly excited is the reopening of the Pullman Montparnasse, which was my Paris favourtie before, and now comes back with a rooftop venue!
