Just got mine in a small box.
I like the new card and the "feel unique" branding. I loved the small moleskin notebook (fits in your jacket pocket), but unfortunately my wife loves it more.

Yesterday I received a Platinum card with the new design valid until 12/2017 (same as the card I already own) together with a Moleskine notebook as a "thank you".
Packaging was quiet similar to (Royal)Ambassador packages by IHG.
Since I'm a notebook addict this was quit cool.

Mine arrived in Canada about a month ago while I was travelling.

Had mine yesterday.
The weird thing is, they've renewed my Platinum every year as far back as I can remember, even though I have barely spent 100 with them annually in ages...
Perhaps they spent the CS budget on Moleskin ?

Bringing that up it would be interesting to see what percentage of plat members are on track to renew for 2018.
Myself i am now on 60% (8500 points) points wise so I am borderline renewal but i think i will make it just a few days before the end of the year.
How about others? I wonder if we were to take a survey of all current FT plat members if this would give a reasonably accurate idea of how many will drop out.
I did think at the beginning of the year it would be a 60-70% drop.

I received mine in the mail today (US), a nice gesture but strange timing. Funny that the inside photo and card (nicely done, by the way) is where I will be staying next, in 2 weeks time: the Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai.

The new design card actually looks cheaper than the previous design. And the moleskin notebook is nothing you couldn't pick up from the local Fnac. A pointless outreach IMO, if not a complete waste of money.
I definitely will not requalify for Accor Plat. I have one more stay for 2017 in Bali, partly to run down my stash of points, of which the cash component (if credited properly) will get me up to Gold. Barring major programme improvements, I will let my status at Accor expire by 2019; Accor stays in 2018 will be to clean out my points.
