So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur
Built by the Singapore listed Oxley holdings, the Oxley Towers, along Jalan Ampang will house both a So Sofitel Hotel (part of it is serviced residences) and Dubai-based hotel group Jumeirah Hotel and a retail mall (like KL needs another mall).

At least the location is a lot better than the Sofitel Damansara. But it's got stiff competition, apart from Jumeirah, within the 1km radius, there're the new Four Seasons next door, Grand Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental and to a lesser extent the ageing Intercontinental.

Now this is a much more interesting news than Sofitel Damansara. It's true that Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental are serious competitors to be reckoned with, but one would expect Sofitel So to not only be in different price point, but also to offer a very different stay experience from these more traditional offerings.
