Accor buys private concierge service John Paul

AccorHotels announces today it has begun exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of John Paul, the leading player in premium customer and employee loyalty services. The company’s Enterprise Value should be close to 150 million dollars i.e. a 2017e EV/EBITDA multiple of c. 11X. Accorhotels should acquire about 80% of John Paul, the remaining stake being kept by David Amsellem, the founder of the company, who will remain as CEO.

What could this mean in practice ? A dedicated concierge service available to top tier members of LCAH ?

@gilbertaue - Now you are dreaming...

It would be nice if as Platinum you get a discount on the service or some benefits. However dedicated CS I think would be a dream...

Seems like Accor has an impressively forward-looking and transformational strategy, but as a person who is likely to keep staying at traditional hotels, I'd rather they focused on improving their core business in terms of consistency of experience and coverage.

Investments in loyalty will also pay off next year – its acquisition of John Paul for instance is to provide concierge services for its members. Accor is also rolling up the three loyalty programmes of Fairmont Raffles, Movenpick and Mantra into Le Club.
He’s also excited about the acquisitions of lifestyle brands such as 25 hours, SBE and Mama Shelter. “These brands are right on point and the right time for the Asia market.”
