Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

Anyone stay Fairmont Dubai (not Palm) and Sofitel Downtown Dubai?
Any recent review about these properties?

We had very nice stay at Sofitel Dubai downtown last year.

Booked (with points) basic Luxuy room and upgraded to an amazing suite opera with Burj Khalifa view.

Pool also is very nice and relaxing

club lounge really nothing special, probably the worst ever been at Sofitel, at ground floor. Small with poor selection of everything

Very far from the one at Sofitel Abu Dhabi or Sofitel Dubai the Palm.

Except for that, a very good hotel, close distance from Burj Khalifa area.

Maybe now when it’s 45 or 50 degrees outside, but between Oct to Feb/March it’s not that kind of fares but more in the 200-250€.

it was end April last year. Maybe I don’t remember so good and it was something more, but sure wasn’t around 200€. Yes, surely oct/mar is more expensive

Anyone stayed at The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery (near Sofitel The Palm)? I am considering this hotel and see there are club rooms with lounge access, though it isn't on the list of hotels with an Executive Lounge, so I am not sure if I could access their lounge with Platinum status?

if there is a club lounge, you have access with your Platinum status.

resort is completely alcohol free

there is an executive lounge, quite basic, but free access for Plat Members.

It’s a nice and relaxing resort, new and at half of Sofitel (on the Palm) rate.

Thank you for the info, I do not drink so the hotel being alcohol free is fine by me, so long they have diet coke in the lounge
The room rate is very appealing and that's why I am considering it. This hotel it is then

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Jumeirah Beach and agree it's a beautiful hotel. I am not Platinum (but Gold) and did not book a club room so I did not have an opportunity to use the club lounge. I will have a layover of sorts for a few days in Dubai and am looking at another option - preferrably one that would accomodate me with lounge as I would automatically get that with Hilton or SPG. As my "shortlist" is 21 properties, I'm hoping for some help. My short list even includes Fairmont Ajman, fwiw.

The Fairmont Ajman does not have a lounge, or a Gold floor for that matter.
