Well it appears once again that the big sale is not a big sale and instead a complete load of bollox regarding the hotel I was eyeing up
Novotel Gold Coast was available pre sale yesterday for a certain date I required at $139 for the 1 night including breakfast.
Today in the so called ASIA PACIFIC SALE - 50% OFF self and same hotel is available for $135 for the same night with no breakfast .

Go figure ................. complete and utter shambles / rip off in my case Guess you can't win them all !

Always a good idea to note the price before a sale.

Hmm.. looks like there's a glitch on this sale.
At least on some properties in Indonesia that i noticed.

Case in point:
Pullman Jakarta. Normally around $100 for prepaid rate i believe.
With this "40/50%" sale, it goes down to $75. Sounds about right.
So i was thinking of booking via hotels.com hoping they match the rate, since i have some GC to burn.

But lo and behold it's $45. Looks like someone uploaded 40% discount of that "40%" rate to 3rd party site.
Unless i'm truly mistaken, and Accor hasn't upload the true 40% rate on their website?

I checked a few other properties, almost all of them are cheaper than booking direct.
Though for some reason, a few Sofitel i checked is actually higher.

So you can use your fave 3rd party site, depending which one giving higher cashback.
Though keep in mind, you probably won't get accor benefit.
(I'm down to silver now, so no benefits for me anyway).

edit: Sofitel Singapore Sentosa appears to be cheaper as well. It's $117 (vs $162/$194 at accor). I think it's a steal at that price.
Sofitel So doesn't seem to be cheaper though.

If you have time to wait and argue, you could always run a BRG as well..

That indeed is a very good steal. Where did you find those rates. The ones on Accor that you said was $162/192. I can't find it. Only able to find $280 and above

I personally feel Sofitel Sentosa jacked up the rates for the sales. Usually their rates are ranging from $280-400. But now with the 50% sale rate, its offering me $310. Real pity this hotel has true potential to be a nice hotel, but management and Hotel owners are horrible sadly so.

Hi,
The $162/$192 is for around Sept 13 date at Accor website.
Does your rate say the 40%/50% APAC sale? If not, they might not have that rate for your date.

edit: I just checked hotels.com, looks like that 40% (off 40%) rate disappears now.
Good thing i booked a couple of nights in Jakarta already. Let's hope they don't cancel it.

I think you were lucky. Cause those 40/50% rates still were offering me SGD$297. You should have booked those rates. Hahahas, most likely a glitch

Oh, sorry. The rate i quoted is in US$, before tax.
It shows $170 for me now, so US$190 nett. Roughly SGD270.

Yeah, too bad the 3rd party is gone now. US$117+tax is a great price.

i am quite confused with this, i found a rate of private sale 40 or 50% in superior room club which have description: Club lounge access and complimentary benefits of buffet breakfast, evening cocktails.
But the details in the sale not included breakfast.

So which one is correct, if i booked the private sale rate, do i get the club lounge access (with breakfast)?

I too found a good sale price that subtracted breakfast, where adding it would mean breakfast cost $US55.
So my guess as to the answer to your question: the one that benefits Accor.
