No doubt it was needed. I stayed about 5 years ago and it was needed then.

It has been almost a year since Fairmont announced the acquisition. Has anyone by chance stayed there and noticed any renovations going on?

I was there in October and didn't notice anything significant. It pretty much looks the way it always has.

It is owned by Blum Capital, and managed by a Fairmont team, but the branding and FM won't be in effect until renovations.

It is their 100th anniversary this year, I heard they are shooting to unveil FM branding this year.

Claremont Club and Spa, A Fairmont Hotel

The Claremont now appears on the Fairmont website. Reservations can be booked.

They also added it to the Limited Access page (which shows the nights where certificates cannot be used at various properties).

Restaurant Update

Not the most inspiring review...

I did have a fantastic breakfast (and an overall great stay) here a few weeks ago. Although breakfast was $35 for one person.

The views from the restaurant are spectacular.

The room I was upgraded to was also very nice - 3 large windows facing the bay - Views from the south / port, to the Bay Bridge, to the north the Golden Gate bridge.

Mini Review from a recent stay.

Positives:
Limewood is great.
Hotel Renovations are finished and look sharp.
Some ongoing work at Pool House.

Negatives:
$26 Resort Facility Fee
$30 Selfpark/Valet Fee
So prepare to add $56 to your base rate. Ugly.
