this is my first time booking fairmont property, if i understand correctly fairmont gold room should come with breakfast and lounge access, but why accor system showing room rate without breakfast? could it be a mistake?

Could it be that breakfast is in the lounge only (more limited) with the first rate and the "breakfast rate" means the larger buffet in the restaurant? That's how I would read this.

200¥ to add a full breakfast. Wow.

That's indeed correct. With a very few exceptions, Fairmont Gold rooms only include breakfast in the Gold lounge (along with the various other perks, of course, such as evening canapes etc.)

i tried to check fairmont beijing official web and other OTA, there is no option to choose a gold room without breakfast.the gold room all breakfast included,
it makes me think maybe accor is using their standard template to create room rate for fairmont, causing this confusion. anyway, i booked the non breakfast rate, i am ok if the hotel not allow me having breakfast at main restaurant. |
This is my usual spot, the past couple years, but I've seen the price slowly floating up and it's making other properties seem more attractive. The service is pretty so-so, although it gets better when you know the staff; the rooms feel dated; and I've stayed on the Gold Floor and I'm not sure it's worth the premium in Beijing. I decided to expand my horizons and book at the Kerry, not too far away, still in the CBD, and partly motivated by the advice of the concierge at Shangri-La Tokyo. Is that price hike a March aberration? Is there a better CBD alternative?

Anyone stayed here as accor platinum and gotten the free breakfast ?

Gold Lounge
Any recent stays here?
Booked a good rate for Junior Suite with Gold Lounge access. Breakfast not included in the rate, but surely can be had at gold Lounge? |
Breakfast at GL was meh....limited choice and lack of manpower.

Wrapping up a 2 night stay. Overall very happy, given the promo rate paid (CNY 1000 for Gold Junior Suite).
Upgraded to Signature Suite despite being a lowly Gold member. Rooms aren't brand new, but I wouldn't go as fast as saying they're "tired". Gold Lounge was good for happy hour from 17:30 to 20:00 with free pour alcohol and enough food for dinner. Breakfast in the lounge was underwhelming, with no staff to prepare egg dishes (despite that being an option) and limited choice. Found out mid stay that breakfast at Lunar 8 was included (not sure why). Check in was bad, as no benefits we're explained. I had to specifically ask about lounge access despite having paid for it. Any simple questions resulted in very complicated answers (like how do I get to X). Overall satisfied and would return if the price is right. |
Any recent stays? How are the pool and spa facilities? Having a few nights there in a few weeks.

I stayed there a couple nights at the end of December with my father. It was a very nice stay considering I got a good promo deal booking a few months ago.
Some of the furniture is a bit ageing but that is typical of many Chinese hotels. Everything worked, just not "fresh". However the essentials were all great : bed, bathroom, cleanliness were top. Breakfast was good including both western and Chinese options, the buffet was frequently filled and the dining area was clean. Staff were courteous. Fitness room and pool were also in good shape, clean. The Jacuzzi chairs are old and a bit finicky but we got it to work. Would recommend if you can get a promo deal on it. |
