Ibis Styles, what to do when cheaper on Booking.com?
I saw it about £20 per night cheaper than the ALL member rate on booking.com and usually that’s a low risk site to book through right?
also I’m ALL Gold, but for Ibis Styles the only real benefit I’d be missing out on is a possible late checkout, right? |

Don’t bother booking direct.
I recently had to cancel 2 ibis stays because I was in an accident and hospitalised. both nonrefundable prepaid bookings. 1 booked direct on ALL.com 1 booked Expedia as they were cheaper contacted both explaining situation. ibis said sorry non refundable, try claiming it on insurance Expedia said so sorry to hear about your accident, we’ll hold your money as credit to use in the future when you’ve recovered. (BA did something similar too) I don’t think i will ever book direct again if the prices are similar |

You should receive some sort of welcome amenity (eg a drink) plus potentially some sort of upgrade (might be a better floor / location).
IMHO you get nothing much at an Ibis or Styles, maybe for a premium member a view of the car park or the bins and a fight over who has the "small beer|" welcome drink. 25cc was the norm in Spain ( think they have special glasses made for it ) ? ( Thats mostly Europe and Esp France ) - However we have had reasonable gifts and good service in Aisa The other question is how badly do you "value" the nights or status points ? are they "worth" 20£ ? If it was me making the choice .... save the 20£ in Europe but possibly spend it in Aisa ( having looked at what the hotel room types are - so you can hazzard a guess at a possible upgrade ) - but for one night prob save the £20 |
