Doha Hotel for long layover?
 

Hi,

We have a long layover in Doha (around 26 hours) due to QR changing flight schedules.

Was thinking of booking a room at the Alwadi Hotel Doha MGallery, anyone have any experience with this hotel?

Or recommendations for others in Doha for a layover?

That is the one I would select. It is also close to the souk and looks really nice in the evening.

I had a 26hr stopover last month and chose the Alwadi. Because it was booked through QR I didn't get my Diamond benefits but they had upgraded me to a suite and the QR stopover allowed 24 hr stay - check-in and check-out 6pm. Didn't do breakfast but the main restaurant did have a very good Business Lunch menu which was great value. The location was great for having a wander around. The staff were excellent.

Thanks, was it just booked through the QR website or are you referring to the STPC as I thought that was stopped at the moment?
if it was just booked through the QR website any reason to do that rather than the All Accor app?

I booked it through the stopover link on the QR website while booking my ticket as this brought the business class return ticket price down by about $AU500. The whole package gets booked by Qatar Airways Holidays which was a Tui travel agency in Malaysia. While they were very responsive to my requests for booking changes it does complicate things that you can't change your flight bookings directly with QR.
