Accor rearranges "boutique" hotel offering; adds Hoxton

Accor and Ennismore are entering exclusive negotiations to form the world’s leading lifestyle operator in the hospitality sector, focusing on one of the fastest-growing segments of the industry.

Through this all-share merger, a new autonomous and fully asset-light entity will bring together a portfolio of brands that includes The Hoxton, Gleneagles, Delano, SLS, Mondrian, SO/, Hyde, Mama Shelter, 25hours, 21c Museum Hotels, TRIBE, JO&JOE, and Working From_. The new entity will be headquartered in London and will take the name Ennismore. Closing is expected in 2021....

Ennismore operate Hoxton hotels in these locations: Chicago, Downtown LA, London (3), Paris, Portland, Oregon, Rome (opening 2021), Williamsburg, NY. They also operate the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland.

The news here is that the current co-owners will be bought out, paving the way for full points earning at Mama Shelters and inclusion of SBE brands in ALL, currently hampered by profit-sharing arrangements (the money going to Accor's partners in Mama Shelter is money not going into the ALL kitty, hence the reduced earnings). Oh, and a hotel in Portland.

Looks like Accor is still going after acquiring brands. This is possibly the most formidable lifestyle brand offering in the industry.

Now if only they'd "double down" on proof-reading, IT, brand integration and making their loyalty program more competitive.

Well, the "brand" that they've acquired is three or four hotels...
