Package from Accor
I received an sms from DHL saying I got a package and the sender is ACCOR SA. Wonder what it is
Any idea? |
Accor is now sending out packages to members. I think it has something to do with what members were getting in Europe, a moleskin handbook.

Is it the same package we got as platinum last year? Curious what they are sending. Just finished my last stay for the year. Will drop to Gold :(, but in Europe has Platinum no value, because no lounges.

Eventually I ended up on 17,100 status points for the year. I actually thought I would Just get 14,000. I wonder if it might be a little more nicer considering the reduction In plat numbers. |

Wow that's great. But will that maybe be only for Accor plus members or all Accor members who held platinum status? Did you also get the moleskin handbook and when did you get it? My home address with Accor is in Australia (Parents home) as I am always moving here in China. I think around the end of August the handbook arrived at my home. Well I think if or when it arrives I may give it them but a great gift indeed! Hope this is the start of a new era of treatment for plat members.

I think the package of treats may be for those participating in the Flyertalk Accor social group. I got that last year and have sought redelivery of something from DHL tomorrow so let’s see.

Ahh well what a shame. You are probably right. It seems a tad too overly generous to give all plat members this. Good question is when we will be getting the replacement cards?

All this is is a small acknowledgement for some customer feedback, which I know some members have given Accor over the last year.

My package just came. Box slightly damaged but food largely intact apart from the jars being a bit chipped.

Nope, no handbook and I got it yesterday! If they did give this to all their Plat members, indeed I am looking forward to the benefits I get over the coming years as it is a major improvement from Accor.

The Moleskin notebook comes with the 2018 renewal packet. I've switched to LCAH this year so I'm not sure if A+ members get that as well.

I realised upon inspecting the contents of the package more closely that actually some of the jars looked like they had been opened (the seal had been broken on one and other had scratched labels, dented metal lids etc). I've e-mail Isabelle too as I feel they should be pursuing this with the company that packed them and also DHL.

Well one can hope and really will have to hope that service improves and feedback in really taken into consideration. Benefits wise, would love to see partnerships with credit card companies to rack up points and better recognition of statues for upgrades, lounge access and for example, free breakfast for Platinums.
I've not been denied room upgrades (quite often to the suites) at any Novotel, Sofitel or Pullman hotels unless the hotel is fully booked, which is pretty rare. |
Free breakfast only happens when
- There is a lounge - And you get lounge access as Platinium (not always true, the case of the Sofitel Berlin comes to mind). In any other cases you do not have free breakfast as a Plat. I would also add that even when I do have lounge access, I prefer to eat at the restaurant as usually the choice is larger. You are asia based so you might have a partial vision if you travel in this region mainly. In Europe you sometimes get upgrades refused or not granted under false pretenses. Lounges are uncommon. |
