I was thinking about this thread yesterday evening as I was counting my previous platinum cards. I am currently in my 10th consecutive year of LCAH platinum and was Sofitel privilege gold 2 years before LCAH (A-Club). So a lifetime status would be more than welcome now ;)
And I am not far from requlifying for next year.
Any update on this Accorhotelsconcierge ? :)

If you hear anything let me know as I am in exactly the same position. One would have thought that a company would want to recognise over 10 years of solid loyalty

Same here, on my 10th year now and may reach it again this year. Some Lifetime recognition would be adequate and welcomed.

In the short term this has to be unlikely. Too many of the current candidates for LT status would be people (none here, of course) who rarely stayed in hotels but spent time responding to surveys, playing games on FaceTwit or spotting differences between photos.

Going forward, however, Accor could certainly benefit from setting some targets for LT Gold and LT Platinum.

If the criterion is 10 years in a row, I doubt you will find this among this population, especially since beg 2017 with the status points earned only with eligible spendings in hotels. This is also excluding all those, at the beginning of the programme, who got free instant platinum using a code available on the web. Those lost their platinum status as soon as this possibility was not available anymore.

Yes and interesting to hear some people upset it came to an end. I think lifetime platinium makes sense now everything toughened up. Plenty of plats dropped out on the 31st of decembet 2017. I cannot see the numbers dropping any further with the increase in hotel size and mergers happening.
