First post. Here we go!

- Name of the hotel: Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked a Superior room. Upgraded to Executive Room with access to lounge and breakfast!

- How are the rooms? Executive rooms were on the top 2 floors of the building with unblocked views of Bangkok. The noise was minimal from the busy street below but the billboards were glaring if you do not draw the curtains. The room is reasonably okay sized for 2 persons. It is equipped with a coffee machine, a nice fridge with 2 bottles of complimentary water topped up every day. The fridge has space for you to put your stuff in there to chill. No bath tub but it was no problems for me. TV was a Samsung 32". Sofa was placed at the window to chill.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Very friendly service. We were given a personal escort up to the executive lounge for check-in after identification of Gold tier membership. Lounge manager made it a point to remember names and orders. Nice welcome amenity of cake and cookies to celebrate our anniversary.

Bad: Nothing to complain about.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? Yes. Was on the 24th floor with a nice view of Bangkok (Siam Area). Cocktail hours between 17:00 to 19:00.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Welcome drinks voucher for 2 persons for a twin room. Welcome drinks are the same as the menu during cocktail hours

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Yes, yes, certainly!

Name of the hotel: Pullman London St Pancras

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked a Classic Room, was offered a £0 upgrade to a Superior Room and on check-in was asked if i'd like to be on a higher floor (had been allocated 1st floor). Got a room on the top floor (16th). Think this may have been a junior suite.

- How are the rooms? View was amazing. could see right from BT tower to the city. Very large comfortable bed, sofa/day bed, armchair.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Key was ready on arrival. Drinks vouchers included cocktails (worth up to £11 each) and I was given two. No issue with late check out until 5pm.

Bad: Nothing. i really enjoy staying here.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Drinks voucher provided on check in but there was no gift on this occasion.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Yes -amazing value at £90 through the happy mondays promo.

- Name of the hotel : Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort ans Spa

- What is your Le Club status? : Silver

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? : So-So experience

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? : Basic Luxury Room, hotel refused my request for upgrade saying it was ONLY entitled to Gold/Platinum members. I was Silver Accor Plus

- How are the rooms? : Rooms were wll appointed, room size was small but the designers design the room in a way which doesn't make it feel small

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Rooms were nice
- Swimming Pool was heavenly
- The bathroom was beautifully decorated

Bad:
- SERVICE NEED TO BE IMPROVED ( Not Sofitel standard )
- F&B prices were high (E.g $37++ for a burger and $35++ for a glass of Champagane)
- Quality of breakfast has room for improvement

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? : N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? : Every time I check in to an Accor hotel, 95% of the time they will give me the Gold/Platinum Drink voucher since we are Accor Plus, however here, they didn't and my welcome drink was either Soft drinks or Fruit punch. (This hotel seems to have no goodwill to its VIP guest at all, always quoting protocol)

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? : I don't know! For the price I pay per night ($280-350), I didn't get much, service was lukewarm. (I have received better service from Novotels)

ContinentalVoyager7 Jan 19, 2016 2:53 am

- Name of the hotel : Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit

- What is your Le Club status? : Gold (It was a back to back stay with Sofitel Sentosa Resort and Spa and my status changed, since it takes a few days for status to change, had to manually explain to staff which I thought will encounter problems but no problems were given :) )

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
: Very happy

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? : Deluxe Executive room with Lounge Access. However upgraded to Executive Suite (How nice of them)

- How are the rooms? : Room was well appointed and big, catering to both business and pleasure travellers. Bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub which was a nice touch.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Rooms were nice
- Appreciated the Jacuzzi bathtub
- Changing room has Sauna, Steam room and Hot Tub
- Executive lounge was good
- Found out last minute (on the day of check in) that my parents would be travelling with me, thus it was their anniversary so I got the hotel to arrange a surprise for them. They did it perfectly.

Bad:
- Swimming pool was far too small for hotel of this size
- Service at main restaurant for breakfast could be improved (I presume lack of manpower)

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? : Yes, lounge was pleasant. Staff at the lounge were nice and were willing to help you in any request. One lounge staff in particular WOW-ed me within the first 2 mins of arriving in the hotel, before even giving my passport, she greeted us my name (How did she know I wonder?)

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? : Received Gold/Platinum drink voucher which allowed me cocktail, house wines, beer and soft drinks

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? : Bought the rate during Accor sale and found it VERY reasonable. Went to check what was normal rate and still found it reasonable. Would want to return in the future.

Mercure Edinburgh City - Princes Street Hotel

- Name of the hotel:
Mercure Edinburgh City - Princes Street Hotel

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Apart from the view, not really

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Superior which is their top room class, received Superior. The Superior room is significantly different from the room as shown when booking online which looks about two rooms size. There is only one room that size based on the fire plan I saw, it's by the lift on the 7th floor and I was able to see inside while they were cleaning it and so could see it reflected what they actually show on the website. Very misleading.

http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/med...burgh-city.jpg

- How are the rooms?
Recently refurbished and looked good but many bad design decisions meant things were mostly style over substance.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
The view is great right on Princes Street gardens and the Castle in the distance.

Bad:
The bed is the worst bed I have ever slept on and I seriously considered sleeping on the floor instead.
Housekeeping left a handprint on the balcony door and dust on the kettle.
Espresso machine but no cups meant you had to hold mugs under the nozzle to use it.
Very little usable surfaces, the bedside tables and desk were both very small.
Lots of other small details that looked good but weren't comfortable or easy to use.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No lounge.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Was able to get two drinks vouchers when I asked for a second for my wife. Tried to get breakfast thrown in since we were in the top room class and couldn't get upgraded but they didn't go for it.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
No, it's priced based on it's view but everything else is a disaster. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be returning.

- Name of the hotel: ibis Singapore Novena

- What is your Le Club status? Silver

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Happy!

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked "1 Single Bed Accessible Room", i was told at check-in counter that this room type was meant for physically challenged people, so they upgraded me to "Standard Twin Beds room". That was my first time with this hotel, i was not aware of this and i simply booked the room with cheapest rate.

- How are the rooms?
New, clean. I like the working desk, long enough for me to put all my docs, laptop and tablet.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
complementary Mobile Phone during our stay: a phone with unlimited 3G internet + unlimited singapore and overseas call (malaysia, indonesia, china, india, japan). i am so exited to see this included in my room, i checked not every room will get this device. it saves a lot of roaming charges.

http://i66.tinypic.com/j6to3s.jpg

free digital magazine:
install the apps called "pressreader", then i could download alot magazine/newspaper for free. then i could read them off-line. this only can be done when we connected to hotel wifi. downloaded all those business magazine from overseas which rarely available in my home country.

stable wifi: average 3mbps throughout my stay

late check-out: i was granted late check-out until 4pm.

tap water safe to drink: it was labelled in the washroom, i tried, drank for 2 days. i am so lazy to boil water.

free refill water: this hotel will not provide plastic bottled water, they provide chilled drinking water in these 2 nice glass bottles. when finished, need to go down to receptionist to get it replaced with another 2 bottles.
http://i63.tinypic.com/rtkunc.jpg

Bad:
welcome drink: only limited to 1 small glass of juice (apple, orange, or pineapple). we cant choose other drink.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
no lounge

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? i booked the room for 1pax, so only got 1 welcome drink voucher. no other special perks.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
yes, will return.

- Name of the hotel: Novotel Antwerpen Noord

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked a Standard Room, no upgrade as the hotel only has Standard Room

- How are the rooms? Standard Novotel rooms with a decent size. Hotels and rooms were recentely refurbished. Our room had a view on the pool and the garden.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good :
Smooth early check-in at 10am, the room was already ready as well as keys, drink vouchers and city map.

Bad :
Nothing went wrong.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No lounge.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Drinks voucher for 2 people (for all drinks excluding champagne and strong alcohols). Bath robes and slippers were also displayed in the room.

No welcome card or gift when we arrived in the morning. However, when arriving back from our visit, a welcome card and a pack of Belgian Waffles were waiting for us. Very nice touch !

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Yes - Excellent value for money as I booked this hotel through a Accor Private Sale for LeClub Members. Paid €45 for this room, which was a bargain. I would definitely return to this propriety, which is a short 10-minute drive to the city center.

Thanks for the report -- it sounds as though there's a lot that this hotel's management could teach some properties that are rated far more highly than Ibis!

PS: When replying I saw your photo links. Your pictures are helpful, so it would be great if you (or a mod) could fix the links. :)

Hey all,

Just asking has anyone been to Dubai here? If they have did you stay at an Accor Hotel. If you did, which hotels would you recommend. I am planning to go there this year and have narrowed it down to a few hotels like Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach and Novotel Dubai Al Barsha.

Additionally, what areas would you recommend to stay in Dubai as this will be my first trip there. Going there for vacation and not business so somewhere with attractions or etc would be nice.

Thank you,
Cocoleolol

What is your Le Club status? Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Studio suite, got upgraded to One bedroom suite

How are the rooms? Large one bedroom apartment with a well equipped modern kitchen, nice seating area, dining table for 4 and a very long desk area. Bathroom has both a shower and a spa bath. Nicely decorated throughout.

What was good and what was bad?

Good: Large nicely decorated room, friendly staff. Great location.

Bad: Breakfast room is a bit tight and uninviting, bar is a bit tight too.

Did you get club lounge access? How was the Lounge? N/A

What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Got 2 welcome drinks, upgrade to one bedroom suite, free breakfast (but that might be linked to a special offer Accor had for MGallery stays rather than because of status) and late check out at 2pm. Free soft drinks in room.

Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Great value for our 3 night stay plus we used our yearly free night. Would definitely stay again.
