Just to add on, if you are arriving from the international airport... After the custom glass door... You will be lead to the waiting area. The taxi booth is just next to the duty free main entrance. ( key here is not to walk into the duty free shop, if you do... you might just miss the taxi booth).

To kuta is 70000 to 80000idr and to nusa dua is 150000idr fixed price. You may check the prices on the board when you are at the taxi booth. I was there just last month, so the prices should be around that range. Hope the information helps.

Anyone know how I can catch a bus/bemi from the airport to kuta? I'd love to try that sometime
As Izouki has said, when you come out into the arrivals hall (where everyone is waiting for people to come out) it's in the far left corner of the Barrier where people are standing, you will find the taxi desk. Just don't go through the duty free shop until you have got your taxi sorted. The taxi driver will then meet you after you have walked through the duty free shop.

I'm not sure what you mean by catching a bus/bemi from the airport to Kuta. I'm not aware of any busses and taxis are so cheap.

With Taxis, make sure you get a "Blue Bird" taxi (needs to say Blue Bird Group on the Taxi) and ask them to put the meter on. That's the cheapest and easiest.

You won't get a Bluebird from the official airport taxis though.

Thank you.
I'll give it a go next time I'm in Bali. I didn't see the prepaid taxi stand so I had to haggle. I got it down to 100k and when we got to Kuta the driver upped it to 150k or he wouldn't take me to my hotel door. I paid the 100k, got out of the taxi on Jalan Legian and walked the rest of the way to my hotel.
There should be buses to/from Kuta (Bemos, they're called. Bemi was a typo, sorry).
I'd love to give them a go too.
probably about AUD 50 cents per way.

In these cases what I do is I say ok, let him get me to the hotel, then mention to the concierge and let them handle. Has happened to me twice. Once in jkt and once in sgn.

Thank you for the tip.
Unfortunately half the time everyone is in cahoots with everyone else. I try not to get bitter about it, that's the way the Tim tam melts.
If I were paid aud$100/mth, maybe I'd resort to extortion too.

I used UBER or GrabTaxi many times in Bali. I paid from the Airport to Kuta/Legian around 50'000 IDR.
SIM Card is available for purchase right after the Glasdoor.

You would have been ripped off buying a SIM card at the airport. Just buy them in a circle K

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort

I have completed a stay a couple of days ago and thought I should share my personal views about the resort for the benefit of many who might want to make a last-minute booking during the current Super Sale and/or MyResort promo.

First of all, picturesque views like these make it worthwhile to spend every moment of your time at the resort:

Like many Platinum members, I was very interested to check out the Executive Lounge which has a very good reputation among Accor lounges in Asia. Upon arrival at the resort, I was escorted to the lounge for check-in. The lounge manager Tari and her staff processed my check-in while I had my lounge breakfast. Breakfast spread was limited but sufficient with some set menu to choose from, cheese, pastry, yogurts etc. After the meal, I was informed that I had the choice of breakfast there or at the main restaurant given my club lounge access. Staffs were extremely courteous and some of them including Tari greeted me by my name whenever I was there, either for afternoon teas (3 to 5pm), evening happy hours (5.30 to 7.30pm) or just chilling out with my favourite sparkling water while I was people-watching. Lounge Pics:

I booked the cheapest room and was expecting a category upgrade but that didn't materialise due to an almost full occupancy as mentioned by Tari who was apologetic about it. I checked the app and verified this was indeed true. She suggested letting me change to a better room (with pool access on the ground floor I presume) when the availability open up but I thought I would miss the spectacular view and the chance to see the sunrise should I decide to proceed with the room change later.

P.S. Gentle reminder for those who wish to make booking during this busy Nov/Dec via Super Sale: DO NOT start your vacation here on a Fri or Sat. Start on a mid-weekday for a better chance of upgrade if you need it.

Room Pics:

I also had the opportunity to go for the island famous Cut Catch Cucina weekend brunch buffet (11am to 3pm). Fantastic variety of food ranging from BBQ Seafood and Meat, oven fresh pizzas, sushi, pasta, dessert etc plus unlimited soft drinks ,cocktails, live music and singing! It is priced at 499k+ IDR with 20% discount for Accor Plus members. Expect a huge crowd during peak dining hours so book in advance to avoid disappointment. You really must try this. Guaranteed no regrets!

Selamat Datang ke Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua!

Great stay macabresg.
I just stayed there 5 days ago. Great recognition of Platinum benefit. Two levels room upgrade, lounge access, late checkout, refreshments in room. But the resort still lacking in food term. Their buffets (breakfast and dinner) are lack of variety and the quality is just average.

Can anyone comment on the restaurants? e.g. for dinner? or would it be best to venture out to town for dinner?

Am Plat card holder.

I guess you checked in on Sun, a day after me. I was very unlucky not to receive any upgrade then! And we probably have met in the lounge!
