How did you go with the double upgrade ? Just about to book a plunge pool room for before Christmas in the hope of acquiring a pool access room upgrade @:-)

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua

Next week I'll (try to) go to the Bali Sofitel.

I reserved a suite with Club Millesime access.
Today I read on the hotel website that the club as the spa and the fitness are not available!
And I booked in may a non refundable/annulation reservation, for 7 days...

What can I ask for that downgrade service and more, if I can't go in Bali due to volcano ashes, shall I lose all my money?
I am Gold A-Club member

Travel insurance might come into play if you have already purchased it, but otherwise, it's a known event so if you purchase now, chances are there would be no coverage.

As for the unavailability of hotel facilities, some travel insurances cover for it as well, however, it's probably best to negotiate with the hotel.

Thanks for your answer.
I mailed to the hotel to know about situation.
I have Amex Platinum insurance and I'll call them tomorrow to know exactly what they will do in case of annulation. I have two tickets to go to Bali one via SIN to CGK on AF and the other on Garuda from CGK to DPS.
I have paid all the hotel reservation and will call Accor to know what is the best solution (not sure they will reimburse).

I phoned the hotel: the front office manager tells me that I will be reimbursed in case of my plane can't fly to DPS, independently of my non cancelation prepaid reservation.
A good point to be confirmed, of course.
He told me that DPS airport is open daily after 4PM (local time) and that only flights coming from Australia are cancelled but not from CGK...
I am about this assertion.

The front office manager says everything is working and was surprised by this pop-up, telling it was only not available in the beginning of the hotel in 2014. He asks for a copy.
I sent him a screen copy that I did yesterday, and he thanks me.
a glitch fortunately.

I'm not 100% sure of the price but can't imagine a taxi (fixed price from the airport) would be more than IDR 200,000

I don't know about nusa dua or fixed price taxis - I didn't even know fixed price taxis existed.
With haggling, a taxi from the airport to kuta is around 100-150.

If you get the official taxis from the airport it's a fixed price (ie, not meter)

If it's the same as at SUB, there is a taxi counter within the terminal with some digital info counter-like displays. You key in your desired type of taxi and your destination. It will print a receipt which you pay to the lady at the desk right there. Then head to the taxi queue.
