The EA just confirmed that the wedding on the last day (14-Dec) will be offsite. Not sure what it really means but I take it should not be a problem.

Like I said, I appreciated the reservation team pro activeness, but personally, I think the back and forth email correspondences should have not happened if the reservation team is checking on the details, as it is non-issue now.

While problem solved, I got an email form the hotel after they charged my card and said
For security purposes, we wish to inform you that our local bank requires you to present this credit card upon check-in at the reception.
I have been staying in many hotel including in Indonesia, and Bali and never such a requirement to present the credit card upon check in. Is this really the requirement from the bank? If yes, then they should change to another bank in my opinion.

Some places I stayed at did request to see the card I made the booking with. On the top of my head, Sofitel So Bangkok did back in July. I don't have a problem with that.

I'm a Platinum member and have stayed in many Sofitel and Pullman hotels in SE Asia and Australia. I'm interested in the Sofitel Bali and I wondered if anyone has experience of booking say 2 rooms for family/friends (my wife and I would be in the booking) and whether Platinum benefits would be extended to all those in the entire single booking - especially Club access.

I've come across this before and it seems to be on a case by case basis depending on the hotel. For example I had a Pullman family booking in Hong Kong and Platinum benefits were extended to all (including room upgrades).

I wish this is something that could be implemented. However I know it'll always be on a case to case basis. Just hope that the GM and HM is kind enough to offer it to you (or you know, be friendly with the hotel ambassadors and perhaps they might quietly extend it to you). For a fact, I know Sofitel Sentosa, Sofitel So Singapore and my upcoming trip to Sofitel Macau does not as only the cardholder's room get the upgrade and platinum benefits.

Technically the platinum benefit is only for 1 room, What room you are planning to book?

If you are a big group, you may want to consider the private vila?

If I remember correctly some Prestige Suite comes with connecting room. You may consider this?

Fastest way to find out is to email the hotel however, for some hotel that part of "my resort" benefit offer platinum benefit for family and friends. You can check in accor website for the list of participating hotels. Recently I email Sofitel krabi and pullman putrajaya, asked about what will I get if I book 2 rooms without breakfast, got fast reply from both hotels saying both rooms will get breakfast and plat benefit.

I am sure sofitel Bali is part of My Resort hotel. So most likely platinum benefit for both rooms. To play it safe, email them asked about platinum my resort benefit for family and friends before you book.

Thank you all for your responses re Platinum benefits being possibly applicable to all those in one booking (2 rooms including Platinum member).

I did indeed email the Sofitel and I am happy to report that I got a positive response!

I was interested to hear about My Resorts and you are absolutely right ququin.
"Share your Platinum resort privileges with family and friends - Exclusive to Platinum members"

...and Sofitel Bali is on the List!

The Sofitel Sentosa is on the list where Platinum benefits should be available to the whole party:

Follow the link on that web page to the list....

Last time I was there, they didn't offer it to me. But I believe it was when MyResort just launch a few days before. So perhaps abit of miscommunication.

General comments: We read every review (hence my request for Block E) and spent the most we have ever spent at any hotel hopeful of a plunge pool upgraded and yes, I was disappointed that this wasn't offered at checkin, however I knew it was ‘subject to availability’ and the Block E Suite was FANTASTIC and the toilet had the most buttons I have EVER seen! I honestly felt guilty after we got the upgrade that I had made myself so at home in the Block E suite and they would have to clean it again. Our original room was opulent, cold on arrival (which I love) and everything that ‘the brochure’ inferred, the gift for my son was unexpected and ecstatically received.

Let me just say, that the TripAdvisor review advising that Block B located behind Nikki Beach Bar is too noisy and should be avoided maybe a little too harsh. If you’re in the plunge pool you can defiantly hear the music (which was quite nice whilst relaxing and sipping on a beverage), but once you shut your doors it is barely audible. It appears that this review and my subsequent request may have been the cause of most of my wife’s disappointment!

Our new room was all that and more (plunge pool) which we all loved. We had extended family visit us each day and they all just lived in there and allowed me to do my own thing, now that’s a holiday. It is here that I now thank my wife for pursuing the cause.

Breakfast was busy but is run like a well-oiled machine, and as others have testified extensive, with great pork bacon ;-) and the large chunks of fruit (that others blended into juice) I preferred to eat, a nice change from than those small bruised chunks that you often get at other hotel buffets. I am kicking myself that I didn’t try the a la carte breakfast option in the club though!

I felt that our new butlers Andika and Mitha were excellent both arranged for an unexpected and very generous anniversary gift. Further Andika arranged for the flatmango to be inflated and Mitha took us all on a buggy ride around the property which my son just loved. The property is fantastic, well maintained and luxurious. We had pre-booked the kids club however did not need to use it, and the children’s pool and water slide were a hit.

My lasting memory was sitting in the near empty main bar overlooking a beautiful view drinking my two complimentary bintangs and waiting for my 1500 late checkout, the signature Sofitel tune now takes me back to my ‘Happy Place’. If you are considering a stay, go with no expectations and you will be blown away!

Another lie they didnt have upper tier room available on the spot. Try to book online (Agoda.com, booking.com, etc) and you can book 8 upper tier rooms easily.

I really sick hear this lie again from Sofitel Nusa Dua receptionist. Accor really need to improve their game on elite benefit enforcement.

I really hope things improve in the near future. The 2nd in charge of the Pullman Central Park (Hotel Manager, François) is transferring to this property soon. He knows a thing or two about LCAH so crossing fingers.
