Vouchers and thoughts?
Hi All,
Been a while since I last stopped by the Le Club section, so not quite up to speed with A-Club and all the magnificent changes they most likely have(n't) introduced while I've been away. So, please forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed lately: 1. Any update on if all rates now can be paid with vouchers and not only the premium rates where you are charged upon departure? The difference in price can be quite big (which is understandable, but hey don't take advantage of A-Club members)... 2. How can a top class hotel (Paris Scribe etc) charge premium prices and not include breakfast? I don't get it, but that's just me. There are probably a million reasons why... 3. I still don't get the conversion rate after all these years: 2'000 points still equals EUR 40 or USD 60  EUR 40 is still only USD 50 and not 60? Is it the same conversion rate if I book a EUR price hotel and want to pay with USD vouchers? Cheerio all :) |

BUT I find this with many other top category hotels in other chains too.. for eg.. most if not all Holiday Inn Express's have bfast and internet included whereas many Crowne Plaza's and Interconti's dont.. 3. Conversion rate is still the same as you mentioned and so yes, there is an arbitrage oppty still if you pay a Eur bill with USD vouchers.. BUT , IIRC the exchange rate is now that applied by the hotel and not what is declared by some agency.. |
First, my apologies - this is probably a very obvious/silly question for most of you! Secondly, sorry for hijacking the thread but I felt this was a related voucher topic.
If you stay at a hotel on a prepaid rate (and of course pay upfront) can you use a voucher to pay for incidentals (e.g. meals, mini-bar) for that stay? If yes to the above, do you need to provide the hotel with a voucher a check-in or can you do so at a later time (i.e. when you know what the value of incidentals will be)? |

From what I know..
1. As of now, still only non prepaid rates can be paid by vouchers..so yes, usually a big difference there. Great news! If you have at least 2,000 Le Club Accorhotels points, you can now use them to book online! The Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg is the very first participating hotel. There will be more to follow shortly. Just did a phantom booking - following T&C's apply. How does it work? 1. Using Le Club Accorhotels points when making my reservation You may use your Le Club Accorhotels points online to pay for all or part of your stay. The total amount for your stay, including taxes, must be greater than or equal to the number of points converted (2,000 points = 40 €). However, reservations for non-cancellable and non-modifiable rates must be paid in part by credit card. You may use your Le Club Accorhotels points to make reservations on these sites: accorhotels.com, sofitel.com, pullmanhotels.com, mgallery.com, novotel.com, suitenovotel.com, mercure.com, ibishotel.com, ibisstyles.com, and adagio.com, as well as via the Accor telephone reservation center. 2. How many points do I need on my account to benefit from this advantage? - You need at least 2,000 points when you make the reservation. - Le Club Accorhotels points are used in multiples of 2,000 points (for example: if you have 4,540 points in your account, you may use 4,000 points). - You may use up to 1,000,000 points per reservation. 3. What should I do if I don't have enough points to book my stay? You must use another payment method to cover the price difference, either online or at the hotel, according to the terms of the booked rate. 4. Will I earn Le Club Accorhotels points when I use my points to make a reservation? The portion of your invoice that is paid using Le Club Accorhotels points is not eligible for earning points. The remainder of invoiced services are eligible, according to the rules defined in the program's general terms and conditions. 5. If I cancel my stay, do I lose my points? Your points will be credited back to your valid Le Club Accorhotels account in the following cases: - Cancellation of a reservation for technical reasons, payment failure or rejection. - Cancellation of a reservation before the date of the stay, for cancellable and modifiable rates. - Modification of the reservation involving fewer Le Club Accorhotels points than used for the initial reservation, for cancellable and modifiable rates. - No-show at the hotel for cancellable and modifiable rates (the amount for the first night will be invoiced). Your points will not be credited back to your account for non-modifiable and non-reimbursable reservations, even in case of cancellation. http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps121acd46.jpg |
