No surprise as apart from the late checkout (when available) A-Club status doesn't give benefit in Novotel.

Pullman Kuching

I had booked three rooms for three nights and one room for two nights at the Pullman Kuching with A|Club Platinum status. Upon arrival during check-in I was told the manager would like the welcome me, and our entire party of seven was given a fizzy (but non-alcoholic) lemongrass drink. I had booked the lowest room category, and all rooms were upgraded one category. Other than that we found a fruit plate in the room and got a plate of cookies each in the rooms after check-in.

No complaints as far as I am concerned, but then again I was a bit remiss in not reading up on Platinum benefits in advance, so perhaps there are other things I should have gotten. But at the price paid it was good value for money.

Yauee,

At Pullman King Power BKK, did you get the lounge benefits too when booking the category below Exec. floor then getting upgraded? Or was it room only?

Wearybiztrvlr,

That's very nice to know your three rooms got upgraded and a manager's personal welcome.

Dont book superior as it only bring you to deluxe. What i did normally i will pay a bit more to book deluxe so the upgrade will be executive. By doing so they honour us with the full lounge benefit. They are very friendly if you know them and they got good memory on the guest at executive floor at least they recornise me on my second call.

That's interesting, I stayed at these 2 hotels last month and I received room upgrade at both properties. Novotel Fenix Silom even gave me a welcome drink.

That was very good for you. My first stay with them was sometime around last October/November when they just started. Things might had been improved which is a good sign for them. I am just sharing my experience.

Good evening,

I have A Club Platinum and here are the recent perks I've had (or no perks)

Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg:
- 4 categories upgrade from Superior room to an apartment designed by Didier Gomez

Sofitel Paris Champs Elysees (not a sofitel anymore):
- nothing, terrible service

Sofitel Seminyak (not a sofitel anymore):
- max upgrade from Deluxe room at 99$ a night to a Beachfront 100 sqm Villa, quite sweet

Sofitel Luxembourg le Grand Ducal:
- one category room upgrade
- staff not that nice and slow

Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial:
- max upgrade from Superior room to Opera suite with 2 bedrooms (total 90sq m)

Sofitel London:
1 category room upgrade

Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel:
- ...... upgrade to what's supposed to be an executive floor (without executive amenities). It actually goes back to when this hotel was a Hilton and it used to be quite nice with a Hermes shop, a hair dresser, a kiosk and so on. Anyway, nothing to be seen there.

Pullman Paris Rive Gauche:
- upgraded from Standard to Superior, nothing outstanding at all

Well I don't fit in a luggage. Maybe in a Vuitton trunk though.

I forgot to add that perks at Novotel, Ibis and Mercure were close to nothing apart from the fact that I usually get an executive room at Novotel (or free internet at least)

Do you book under a corporate rate? That would probably explain the free internet.

Never with ACCOR

What's more, the corporate rate of my company just sucks with pretty much all hotels (-10%) apart from IHG (-30%).

I only stay in Accor hotels when its under corp rates and there is no other option..
But my corp does not have sofitels in most places.. mostly mercure, novotel and adagio so upgrades get very restrictive specially since most stays in Europe where these hotels dont go out of their way for A-club elites..

Couldn't agree more... Sofitel are overpriced, especially in Paris.
It's a pity my company has terrible corporate rates pretty much everywhere. Don't understand why given the global number of employees that is just huge.

In any case, I'd definitely prefer to have SPG Gold than A Club Plat, that's for sure.
