"how to beat the system" tip #30 the cheapest place to eat at the airport
major airports have employee cafeterias and snack bars. Some have also employee bars and lounges. These establishments are often run at cost or even subsidized by the airport authority.
Many of these establishments don't screen their customers - if they do, try to befriend an airline or airport employee and find out where the employee cafeterias are and what type of screening procedure they have.
If there is a screening procedure, ask your new friend to escort you in.

These are great tips, Rudi. If I know I'm
going to be stuck at the airport for awhile
I will bring a cereal bar or fruit or something to munch on to keep up my strength.
Sometimes I'll stop for a beer at the local
airport bar. It's a few bucks but sometimes
you get to talking to some interesting people. CATMAN
