We were there a couple of weeks ago. Booked PL stays at the Marroitt Stellaris and at Hilton Caribe (both were around $150 a night). The marroitt was more intimate then the hilton, and generally felt more upscale. The room at the hilton, in a newly renovated section, was larger and really nice - we liked it better then the Marroitt.
BTW I loved the hammocks the Hilton puts up on the beach! every beach resort should have these.
