I've been off planes for a year, and just now getting back in the seat. (my new company repurchased my Plat status to bridge me, and I'll requalify on my own this year)

In the old days, OLCI at the 24 hr mark was important to improve chances for upgrade.

What would be the benefits (if any) now to an early online check-in? Especially if one's upgrade has already cleared prior to 24 hours?

Any benefit related to OLCI time, for priority handling in standby or irregular ops? Or is that completely status based?
