I'm thinking two things. You probably will get a back-door reinstatement to SM after the merger. I'm not saying that from DL's perspective all is forgiven, I'm just thinking that when the WP miles do combine that there likely won't be a program in place to look for former SM members who have been given the boot. (Especially if your WP member name is slightly different and you have a new address) Although, now that this is in FT, who knows what nefarious (kidding) RP agent might set upon developing such a program. That being said, I would definitely burn most of my WP miles, but leave a few so you see what happens post-merger. That is, even if you do want to participate in a program where you are no longer welcome. If it were me, I think I would just move on to AAnother program.
