It's important to realize a couple of things:
1. They couldn't hack it with a direct attack, it was a website with malicious code
2. It is BELIEVED that the vulnerability was in Safari, so this could apply to any machine running Safari
3. No computer is every 100% safe, you should always assume that your machine can be hacked and act accordingly....
AND, apple has already patched the hole. :-)
