Like several other posters above, I think you were actually in Business on a 2-class plane.
Although I agree with your observation, a 2 class 744 doesnt operate on this route unless in a desperate aircraft change inwhich the passengers im sure would have been informed of the change and refunded from F to J, and a F service wouldnt have been delivered ie the tasting menu.
