I think wine from Cahors also usually involves tannat. Definitely not for the tannin-wary.

Oops, looks like I was a bit off: it's Madiran that's famous for tannat, although it can be used in Cahors (which is mostly Malbec, if my googling serves me right). Looks like it's the Basques who brought it to Uruguay.
