NWS is still predicting upwards of 6" total - the high-moisture content of the snow, coupled with strong winds, will make clearing this a challenge. See below for the most-current report:

...HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE AREA TODAY...BECOMING HEAVY
AT TIMES. TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 7 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED BY EARLY EVENING...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
ALSO...WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 20 MPH...CONTRIBUTING TO SOME
BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF
YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN
YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
As far as the schools, my kids are home - as are most in the Detroit-Flint area - and my wife's evening post-grad class was likewise CX'ed. I see that many adults in my neighborhood have likewise "called-in," judging from the symphony of snowblowers outside my home.

That's the only downside of telecommuting... having no good reason to miss work due to weather. At least I don't have to fly anywhere today. ^
