I, too, second or third the nomination of 55-degrees as a great restaurant.

I'll toss in a few San Francisco area restaurants which have been surprisingly good, too:

-Unicorn, on Pine St., SF (if you're already in the Financial District)
-Namu, on Balboa, SF (terrible, terrible parking situation)
-Eastside West, at Greenwich and Fillmore in the Marina Dist.
-Laiola, on Chestnut St in the Marina Dist.
-Frisson, in Jackson Sq.
and NEVER forget that as of late, MAX's DINERS are all participating (SF, Oakland&Marin, anyway)....... Miles for Pastrami Reubens: Amazing.

The 250-mile winter AA bonus is going to get a LOT of exercise, as it's almost impossible not to approach $25 at each of these (except Max's) even if you're dining alone. Add a glass of decent wine, and you're even over the top at Max's, after tax and tip.
