1999 Was a good year to earn 1K
I was just thinking of all the deals that 1Ks were getting because of the Summer from Hell and now Sept 11. If you really think about it, if you flew alot in one year (namely 1999) you could have acheived 1K fairly easily the next two years...
1999 fly 100 segments or 100,000 miles
2000 fly nothing (or 86,000) miles
2001 fly 25,000 miles in the 1st quarter (for 1K in 2001) and nothing the rest of the year....
Bingo you are 1K for 2002 again.... somehow, it seems a little wacky to me. When I finally charted out all the possibilities on paper, I understand how some 100,000 + flyers every year can get alittle disturbed.
Just my 2 cents.. very interesting the "loop holes"
