You can hold that opinion until you're blue in the face, but as soon as you try to book it with QF, you'll discover that regardless of the fact that the wording is unclear, combining multiple carriers results in a 'OneWorld' award.

Incidentally, I was incorrect about the points required to take a OneWorld trip -- it's 135K for up to 10K miles in F class
