As I was walking to my seat on flight 7796 from LGA to IAD I found a box cutter in the overhead bin. There were probably a dozen people that passed this before I saw it. Since the bins are so low on the RJ, it was tough to miss. When I saw it, I made sure that others around me heard it so that I would not be accused of bringing it on the plane. I rang the flight attendant call button and when she came back, I gave it to her. She said that it must of been left on the plane by maintance. The guy next to me said that they thought there is a tool count of maintance staff when they leave the plane.
So, UA maintance leaves a box cutter in an empty overhead bin, but I can't bring a 4 ounce bottle of saline solution on the plane.
Geez, poor box cutters! They are still associated with the 9/11 attack though they had no part in it!
