Mesaba to get 15 CRJ-200's from Pinnacle

Hot off the press today:
Pinnacle stated in an SEC filing that NW will be removing 15 CRJ's from their fleet and moving them over to Mesaba's fleet beginning in Sept. 2007.

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/da...g06958e8vk.htm

"Because Pinnacle and ALPA did not reach agreement by March 31, 2007, Northwest has given Pinnacle notice that it intends to transition the 15 aircraft delivered in the first quarter of 2007 to one of Northwest’s wholly owned subsidiaries expected to begin in September 2007 at a rate of two aircraft per month. In addition, Pinnacle will not receive the two remaining aircraft originally scheduled to be delivered in 2007."

Mesaba will get 15 CRJ's from Pinnacle, in addition to the 1 they currently operate (that was to go to Pinnacle). Plus, the CRJ currently on loan to Compass will rejoin Mesaba's fleet.

So by sometime in 2008, XJ will operate a total of 49 Saab 340's, 17 CRJ-200's, and 36 CRJ-900's.

To the average passenger this will pretty much just amount to rearranging the deck chairs. Same aircraft, same airport facilities, just different crews, and sticker by the door.
