Unlike the airline redemption choices for Diners Club members residing in Australia (Qantas, Air New Zealand, & Regional Express),

http://www.dinersclub.com.au/s16_rew...redemption.asp

Diners Club members residing in North America do not have the choice of converting points to miles with QF or the other two. However, they have 26 other U.S. and international airlines to choose from. (!)

Because of the much more generous points/ miles awarded in Australia due to the value of the Australian Dollar, apparently Diners Club want to keep the systems entirely separate.

This works to the detriment of North Americans who might like to earn QFF points, and also to the detriment of Australians who would prefer points on some of the other carriers.

One "solution" might be to get an account in the other country, but you'd need an address there and some sort of taxpayer ID number, too.

Anyone applying for a US Diners Club, my sponsor code is SSZG2183 .

Seriously, I'd do a search on the American Express Board, and if no luck, ask your question there.

There are, of course, Starwood points, which can be earned with the Starwood Amex.
