I have been told by KLM staff that I
had to check a carry-on that contained fragile items. I politely declined. Even if all the bins are full, they can generally find space in the closet, or somewhere.
If they promised you 50k, and you have it in writing, I would pursue it. Those Delft house should be worth at least $100 each, right?
