SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Australia 's biggest airline Qantas Airways Ltd. (A.QAN) has stepped up its assault on the international aviation market by adding more flights on routes to Singapore and Europe.

Executive General Manager of Sales and Marketing John Borghetti said Qantas will continue to monitor international routes as demand slowly returns following the terrorist attacks in the U.S. last year.

"We are well-placed to put more capacity into the market as international demand continues to grow," he said in a statement late Monday.

Qantas will add three Boeing 747 services from Australia to London via Singapore from Dec. 7 as well as five new Boeing 767-300 Sydney -Singapore return services each week.

The airline also will add five new Boeing 767-300 return services each week between Singapore and Melbourne , connecting Singapore with Qantas services from London , Paris and Rome .

Three new return services each week from Perth to Rome via Singapore will be operating using newly reconfigured two-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Qantas said it will also replace its Boeing 767 aircraft used on its weekly Singapore to Brisbane services with Boeing 747-300s, providing an additional 435 seats each week.

In addition, the carrier will upgrade its Boeing 767 to Boeing 747-400 aircraft on its seven services from Perth to Singapore , providing an extra 1,421 seats each week.

Around 0103 GMT , Qantas shares were down 2 cents, or 0.4%, to A$4.60, while the broader market had dipped 0.1%
