Another QANTAS safety scare.
QANTAS jumbo was forced to return twice to Hong Kong airport yesterday after one of its generators failed and warning light came on. The flight was cancelled and PAX left stranded without any apologies or compensation. The incident is made worse by the fact that it involved the same plane that crashed in Bangkok last September and underwent extensive repairs, over $100 million outside Australia (apparently in China). Some sources inside the industry are still of the opinion that the plane should have been written off and not repaired. This is just another example how cost cutting is endangering safety of travellers.
